CORE KNOWLEDGE
Colonial Towns and Townspeople - This unit continues the students' journey as they learn more about the early history of our country.  The setting for this unit is more than 150 years later, after the colonies had been firmly established.  This unit will acquaint students with what daily life was like for the people who lived during these times, and how very different it was from students' own present-day experiences.

WRITING
We are working on thinking like writers and getting our ideas on paper using pictures and words.  We are also labeling, stretching out words, and using our vowels.  This week we are working on turning our writing and ideas into books and scrolls.  We are working on thinking about what we are going to write and planning it out across all of the pages in our story. Including details and labeling in our pictures is an important way to tell more about our story. We are also working on neatness, finger spacing, punctuation, and making sense.

A Message from Your Teacher....

August 2017

Welcome to school this year! I am so excited to have you in class. I know we are going to have so much fun as we learn a lot together.

I am looking forward to conferences next week so I can get time to talk with each one of you.

Mrs. Meger, our classroom fellow, has written up a little bio about herself below. She will be in our room throughout the day and she will be teaching small groups during guided math and guided reading. We are lucky to have such an amazingly talented teacher in our room this year!

I will email you updates weekly, but please bookmark this site so you can receive the most updated information frequently for the kindergarten as a whole.

Smiles,
Ms. Bronk
